Originally created for the Norwegian Olympic Team for the 1992 Winter Games in Albertville, France, the Albertville sweater has become one of Dale of Norway’s most recognisable archival designs. More than three decades later, original versions can still be found in vintage stores, private collections and on resale platforms across Europe and the United States.
This fall, the Albertville sweater returns.
Its reintroduction is less about revisiting the past than recognising what has endured. With its bold Norwegian pattern, substantial wool construction and classic crew neck, the design has remained distinctive through changing seasons and trends. The new edition stays true to those original characteristics, preserving the expression that made Albertville a lasting part of Norwegian knitwear history.
Designed to outlast the season
The continued interest in the original Albertville sweater says something about the way we want to dress today.
Pieces made more than 30 years ago are still being worn, collected and passed on. Rather than being defined by a particular season, they have acquired new lives through repeated use — an approach rooted in durability, care and longevity.

Knitted in Norway from 100% wool, the reintroduced Albertville will be available in three colourways, with versions for both women and men.
