A Dale icon, reimagined. 70 years after Dale of Norway launched its first official Olympic sweater in Cortina d’Ampezzo in 1956, we proudly return to the same host city with a design that carries the legacy forward.

Since 1956, Dale of Norway has made the official sweaters for the Norwegian Olympic athletes, and we are proud to continue that journey as we look toward the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

From Cortina 1956 to Cortina 2026, the legacy returns.
Dale of Norway is back in Cortina with a new sweater—crafted in pure Norwegian wool, built to perform, and designed to endure.

Worn by champions then. Worn by champions now.

Tradition meets the future. Quality becomes legend.
Make it yours. Make it something to remember. Make it iconic.

The 2026 Team Norway sweater pays tribute to Dale’s original 1956 Cortina design. With a bold, sporty silhouette, high neck, and timeless Norwegian pattern, it blends heritage and craftsmanship with contemporary style.

Since 1956, Dale of Norway sweaters have been worn by athletes who embody victory, resilience, and pride. Now, the story continues – crafted for a new generation who shape the future on their own terms.

In 1956, Norway entered the Olympic Games in Cortina d’Ampezzo wearing its first official team sweater, designed and knitted by Bitten Eriksen for Dale of Norway. With bold crosses and classic Nordic patterns, it marked the start of a legacy that would continue for generations.

The Cortina sweater was originally made for the National Norwegian Ski Team for the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy. This was the very first in Dale of Norway’s long row of official Olympic sweaters. Today, the Cortina 1956 sweater is a popular retro sweater and an absolute icon. Capturing the essence of traditional Norwegian history, the pattern has become one of Norway’s most beloved designs.
