Nestled in the heart of the village of Dale, just steps away from our historic factory, you’ll find the Dale of Norway Factory Outlet; a unique destination for those who love premium knitwear, Norwegian heritage, and great finds.
What you’ll find
The Factory Outlet offers a curated selection of Dale of Norway garments, including discontinued styles and samples, always at reduced prices. In addition you will find seasonal items. Whether you’re looking for a classic Olympic sweater, base layers, or accessories, this is where timeless quality meets rare opportunity.
You’ll also find a small museum filled with stories from our 145-year journey. Discover rare photos, vintage knitting machines, and a closer look at how our garments have evolved since the very beginning in 1879.
You’ll also see the full collection of official Olympic and World Championship sweaters on display, each one a piece of sports and design history. From bold colors to iconic patterns, these sweaters tell the story of our long-standing partnership with world-class athletes.
Location
You’ll find the outlet at the original Dale factory site, surrounded by scenic fjords and steep mountains on Norway’s west coast. Many visitors make the trip part of their journey through the region, or as a memorable detour from Bergen (about 1 hour by train or car).

Make it a day trip
A visit to the Dale of Norway Factory Outlet isn’t just about shopping, it’s a chance to experience the charm of Dale itself. After finding your new favorite sweater, stop by Fryd Brukt og Antikk in the village center, a cozy and character-filled shop open Thursday through Sunday. Grab a coffee and a bite at the local café, and enjoy the pace of small-town life nestled between the mountains.
For those who like to take in the views from higher up, lace up your hiking boots (or your new wool layers) and head for Dystingen (999mt/3277ft) or Storafjellet (641mt/2103ft), two scenic hikes a short drive from Dale. Dystingen offers sweeping panoramas over the valley and river, while Storefjellet rewards you with views all the way to the fjords. Both routes are beloved by locals and ideal for a peaceful escape.
